Once you have Virtualbox set up correctly, you may need to set up bridging to have full access to the network, logon to your Windows domain, and so forth.

I came across the recently completed Global Peace Index website, which posts rankings for 121 countries. They are in order from most to least peaceful. Some of the weighing factors are crime and violence. But military expenditures also factor in to the index.
